It’s hard to believe we’re already in 2026!
If you’re expecting a baby this spring or summer, your mind is probably already full.
Doctor’s appointments. Nursery decisions. Childcare logistics. What recovery might look like this time. Whether you’ll want visitors—or quiet. Whether you’ll even feel like taking photos.
So if newborn photography isn’t at the top of your list yet, that makes complete sense.
But here’s what I gently want you to know: when you book your newborn photos has a bigger impact on your experience than almost anything else.
Most families are surprised to learn that newborn photographers typically book months in advance, especially for spring and summer due dates.
Why?
Because newborn sessions aren’t scheduled on a fixed date—they’re held open around your due date. That means I can only take on a limited number of newborns per month to make sure every family has flexibility and care.
For babies due between March and August, I recommend reaching out sometime during your second trimester—or early in your third at the latest.
Not because you need to commit to anything rigid.
But because it gives you options.
One of the biggest misconceptions about newborn photography is that it locks you into a strict plan.
In reality, booking ahead allows me to:
When you book early, the session adapts to you—not the other way around.
When families wait until after baby arrives, availability can be limited, and that’s when stress tends to creep in.
Spring and summer newborn sessions have their own quiet beauty.
Longer daylight hours mean soft, natural light in your home.
Windows are open. The pace feels a little slower.
There’s room for older siblings to wander in and out, to snack, to cuddle, to be themselves.
These sessions aren’t about perfection.
They’re about presence.
About the way your baby fits into your arms.
About the in-between moments you won’t realize you miss until later.
You don’t need to have:
All of that can come later—and I’ll help guide you through it when the time comes.
Booking early is simply a way of saying:
This season matters. I don’t want to rush it or miss it.
If your baby is due in the coming months and you’re considering newborn photos—even quietly, even unsure—this is your sign to reach out now.
We can talk through timing, expectations, and what kind of session would feel most supportive for you.
You don’t need to decide everything today.
You just need to leave space for remembering.
